Goings on in the world of gaming & technology...and my mind

The struggles of a budget-gamer
Those who participate in the world of video games can be sure of one thing: gaming is not a cheap hobby. So how does a (low) budget gamer game? Late. Look, not every game I want to play will be affordable at the time of release, so I wait. How long do I wait? Well, let's just say that I only got to play Fallout 4 this year (insert Game of Thrones "Shame" gif). I know that this isn't the ideal situation, but I am working on it. One day I hope to be the kind of game who games without a budget. The kind of gamer who looks forward to a game's release and not the painful pricetag when it hits stores. Dammit, I want to be the kind of gamer that pre-orders! But until then, I'm looking forward to playing Detroit Become Human in 2020.

What will happen when Sony releases the PS5?
As I have been seriously working towards attaining a PS4 Pro, the dark thought of Sony releasing a PS5 has been creeping into my soul, and it makes me uncomfortable. Why, you ask? Because it would be unfair. Yes, I acknowledge that it's not Sony's fault that I've been broke for so long. But I want to be on par with the world for once. I wish, no, I NEED Sony to confirm a PS5 release date before I purchase a PS4! If I hear that a PS5 is coming out when I have just purchased the PS4 Pro, I am taking a flight to Japan with my Pro straight to Sony'd headquarters and demand that they take my Pro and give me the PS5. Because it's the right thing to do. I can't keep playing these expensive games with Sony and Microsoft. I just can't.

Are we Apple addicts?
I've been thinking about Apple recently, in particular how obsessed we as society, or at least my generation, are over Apple. We all know that it is a great brand that always just looks right and easy on the eye. But does this make us overlook the very obvious annoyances? For one, bring back the damn headphone jack! That little adapter should've been made with titanium if they wanted us to make the complete transition. Secondly, are we truly over the fussiness of obtaining a song on an iPhone? Bluetooth Apple...Bluetooth. Can't we all just get along? I won't get into the software updates. But it's the little things sometimes that can cause the wandering eye in Androids way. I don't want to cheat on you Apple. I guess love really does make us tolerate more. And what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, right?

Will reality ever be good enough again?
With the rapid expansion and growth of technology over the past few years, society has been introduced to new ways of experiencing life. Virtual reality has taken the world by storm. From gaming to exploring and even education, this is becoming a more attractive way to engage, learn and have an experience. But how long until the real world just isn't real enough anymore? How long until kids want to virtually climb a tree than risk a cut from an actual branch outside? How much longer until we become afraid of each other and ultimately ourselves? I'm not intending to be a hypocrite, seeing that I myself am a gamer who enjoys alternate realities and worlds, but I do enjoy having the actual Sun's rays warm me when I step outside. With every good thing caution should be exercised, and I believe the same applies with virtual reality.
